Remember You’re A Womble… An Interview With Nik Tzanev

Fresh from signing his permanent contract with AFC Wimbledon of English League One yesterday, goalkeeper Nik Tzanev very kindly gave of his time to answer a few questions for me. Speaking in an accent that is very much half-Kiwi / half-English (he has lived in the UK since 2006), Nik opened up on the hard work that got him to his current success, the merits of a loan move to non-league football and also gives some advice for aspiring young Kiwi players who dream of making it as a professional in England.

2nd Leg – Team Wellington 0-2 Auckland City – An Analysis

All this week I have been running a poll on my Twitter page. I asked whether, after the 3-0 drubbing at Kiwitea Street the previous Sunday, anyone felt that Team Wellington could realistically overturn the deficit in the second leg. 100% of the votes said that wouldn’t be the case. Now it may not have been the most testing of polls – not many would have been rushing to their local TAB to put a bet on Wellington coming back from the dead – but it does show those folks who voted as very prophetic.

ISPS Handa Chatham Cup – Preliminary Round Results

And so the 2017 edition of the Chatham Cup got off to an exciting start this past weekend, with some games also being played on ANZAC Day on Tuesday 25th April.
